i've never known that dragonflies die so awful and beautiful at the same time...today i saw this: dragonfly frozen in black ice
i prefer to think that this is not ice but night sky

You work very hard to find the beautiful shots that you show us. I think that the secret of so much of your work is in knowing just what will make a good photograph. Keep on entertaining us.

Perhaps death had already claimed it and the ice merely preserved it.
A subject who is more still could not be found =P.

it's so beautiful, but so sad at the same time. I too shall think of it as the night sky. Maybe it's a statement about life in general, finding beauty in tragedy and sorrow.

it never ceases to amaze me how you seem to attract such interesting and fabulous subjects to work with!

this is truly an amazing peice, the dragonfly has always been my favorite of the insect world because of their grace and mystery in some ways they're even more beautiful than butterflies.

In nature there is beauty and there is darkness. You have captured both wonderfully. Always look for the balance.

WOW...what a rare sight...this is impressing, although it makes a bit heavy-hearted...i mean, this wsole imagination about the last flight of an interesting and fascinating flying bug until it lands in the water, dies and freezes...we just need a fitting song and i could get maudlin^^;......
