Question to friends

Journal Entry: Tue Mar 24, 2009, 9:13 AM

!!!

I'm looking for a job.
In my native town photographers are limited with weddings and corporative parties. I'm interested in creative work and only thing people need here is boring photos with someone's drunk face, to cruel from my side to say so but this is true. I can't change the location at the moment, some short trips are possible but i should not forget about visa. So i need your help. A lot of my friends have much more expirience in working as photographer then me so probably someone has  info about how to earn money with photography online :), perhaps somebody has already worked with photobanks, auctions, et cetera. I've read a lot about different kind of stocks but what can be better of good friend's advice?
So I ask you to help :)
My poor knowledge of the subject doesn't let me to ask the question more correctly but i hope you will understand me.

A few words about microstocks.
I know that there is possibility to earn some money with microstocks if you can upload there about 10000 of photos with special simple content like men shaking their hands, smiling  families( mommy, daddy and me), laughing children, jumping gold fishes on the white background, photos from spa,  jumping people and other standart photos for standart simple designs. If you have less then 10000 photos or spend any money to models, stuff, studio and so on you will not earn. Maybe i'm overacting so if you had positive expirience with microstocks, plz let me tell me your secret :)

Try Redbubble [link]
Artistsrising [link]
And Cafepress [link]

You can sign up for free on all of them, or for a little money have a premium space.

I hope this helps.

Good luck.

Ask all the questions you like, I don't mind.

I'm sure the prices are similar on all of them, (more or less). I think the biggest differance is that DA seems to be more of a social site for artists, but Red Bubble - Artists Rising and Cafepress are more like on-line market places where people do
go to buy art.

Some people make money on these sites. I have made a only little, but I don't have a lot of time to be very active with them.

If you don't mind me asking... what name is on your profile on Red Bubble? I'll look you up there. I'm under artfixation on all three.

I think I found you there.

One more advice, if I may. You should sign up at all three, the more you're work is out there - the more you're going to be seen and hopefully the more work you will sell.

I have not yet made money from Redbubble,(I have only three pictures up there). I have made a few sales from Artist Rising. I
have made several more at Cafepress. And if you use Facebook or Myspace or any other site like that, advertise - tell people your work is available and give them a link.

I still need to do some of this myself :)

... and most of all - Enjoy!
