Journal Entry: Tue Jan 11, 2011, 7:20 AM

would like to hear your opinion on the following issues
What web sites do you suppose to be useful
1) for creative growth of photographer;
2) for commercial success of photographer?

What resources do you use yourself?

Update: I'm sorry if i said something incorrectly and confused you but i would like to know all resources(sites) you use for purposes named above namely, their web addresses :).

Got a couple of books in English dealing with growing as a professional photog or choosing a career path among the many in the field. If you're so interested, let me know andf I'll email or upload them for you.

Armene, for the business side, nothing like "business books". We have so little time to read and as photographers, we prefer images anyway :P hahaha.
I recommend [link] They are concise'd book and they are all great books (they come as audio book so you can listen to them when you are on the bus, in traffic, editing boring images. It is worth the money. I hope that helps.

I had to think about it for a while... Besides DA, I haven't used many web resources.

I have used two printing services - one on photographic paper: Photoworks, and one that does high-quality Giclee printing on archival quality paper: IONA Print Studio, in Provincetown, MA (on Cape Cod). These are probably too far away for you to use effectively, however maybe some of your American followers might find them useful. Commercial services like Photoworks have issues, especially with non-standard cropping, so I usually send them uncropped photos and crop them manually my self.

For a while I used an on-line backup service, to store backups of my photographs, but they went out of business and shut down. Now I use an old computer at my office which has FreeNAS installed on it as an FTP server. I back up everything (work-related and personal) to that.
